The 50–acre project involves the revitalization of the Sunnydale-Velasco neighborhood with the development of 1,700 residential units constructed in several phases over an 8-to-10-year period. The existing 785 public housing units will be replaced with 775 units of high-density housing and 995 affordable housing and market rate housing units. The project also includes a new community center, recreation center, open space parks, and new streets and infrastructure.
ENGEO served as the geotechnical–engineer-of-record for the master-planned redevelopment. Our design team prepared corrective grading recommendations, stormwater treatment, and foundation design for the new development. Our construction team has been providing construction observation throughout construction of the project.
